Washington State Archives
The Washington State Archives collections record the actions of government agencies, as well as the fundamental events and history of our families and our communities. The Archives preserves and provides public access to documents that provide primary source information for interpreting state, regional, community, family, and personal history. In addition to standard governmental paper documents, records include architectural drawings, correspondence, ephemera, maps, motion picture film, photographs, reports, sound recordings, and video. Divided between five regional branches, the records are largely stored where they were created: Southwest Region (located in Olympia), Puget Sound Region (located in Bellevue), Northwest Region (located in Bellingham), Central Region (located in Ellensburg), and Easter Region (located in Cheney).
